FREE ENERGY EFFICIENCY UPGRADES, DESIGNED FOR YOU

Lower your energy bills and make your home more comfortable by getting free and subsidized energy efficiency upgrades. This program is designed to help Red River Métis homeowners and renters save on their energy bills by providing affordable energy efficiency upgrades for their home. If you’re renting a home, we can work with your landlord to have energy efficiency upgrades completed in the house you’re living in. 

Our team of dedicated professionals takes care of everything and manages the entire process. We identify eligible improvements, connect you with registered contractors, and take care of the payment, helping you save even more. 


We’re partnering with the Manitoba Métis Federation to help raise awareness of these offers. 

DO YOU QUALIFY?

  • You’re a Red River Métis Citizen.
  • You’re a homeowner or tenant in a single or semi-detached home.
  • You live in the home year-round.
  • You:
    • have been approved or participated in the Manitoba Métis Federation’s Home Enhancement Loan Program (HELP); or
    • have been approved or participated in the Manitoba Métis Federation’s First Time Home Purchase Program (FTHPP); or
    • have a total household income before deductions that meets or falls within the income thresholds listed below.

Free Home Energy Assessment

Get a free in-home assessment to find ways to save energy.

Free Insulation

Free insulation retrofits and installation are available for eligible attics, walls, and basements identified during your home energy assessment.

Must be installed by a registered program contractor.

FREE NATURAL GAS FURNACE UPGRADE

Upgrade to a high-efficiency natural gas furnace from an existing standard- or mid-efficiency furnace for free.

Must be installed by a registered program contractor.

Natural Gas Boiler Upgrade

Get a $5,000 rebate when upgrading from a standard-efficiency boiler to a high-efficiency boiler.

LED light bulbs

Free Energy-Saving Devices

Get free LED bulbs, energy-efficient showerheads and aerators, air-sealing products, and other energy saving items.

ELECTRIC AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMP RETROFIT

Get an air source heat pump for only $30 per month for 10 years when retrofitting a home with an electric furnace, baseboard heaters, or electric boiler.

STEPS TO PARTICIPATE

  1. APPLY

    Get in touch with us or the MMF’s Energy Efficiency Advocate Keith Kowall at keith.kowall@mmf.mb.ca or 431-668-3454 to apply. You’re required to provide income verification documents unless you’ve participated in HELP or the FTHPP. Once approved, we’ll set up a free home energy check-up to identify all the eligible upgrades in your home to help you save energy.

  2. RECEIVE YOUR UPGRADES

    Start saving immediately with free installation of energy-saving devices and get your home heating system and insulation levels assessed for potential upgrades. If your home qualifies for a heating system upgrade or an insulation upgrade, our team of professionals will help coordinate everything and connect you with our registered contractors to complete the recommended energy efficiency upgrades. .

  3. START SAVING

    All registered contractors are set up to invoice us directly, so you don’t have to worry about any upfront costs. The cost of our furnace and insulation upgrades are entirely covered through the offer and our partnership with MMF. Now it’s time to enjoy lower energy bills and a more comfortable home.
