Application step 3: Application form

• Complete the project site details 
• Ensure you select that your project is part of the Manitoba Schools Lighting Initiative 

Application step 4: Lighting details

• LED fixtures: Use existing Business Lighting Program categories 
• Lighting controls: Select the “4C. Manitoba Schools Lighting Initiative controls” category
• Don’t complete 4A. Occupancy sensors or 4B. Other control systems 

Application step 5: Supporting documents

Please note: All projects must submit a Lighting controls intake form, which is used to verify alignment with MECB 2020 lighting control requirements. The form is divided into Pre-Approval and Post-Install sections. Please complete the Pre-Approval section as instructed in the sheet and finish the Post-Install section at project completion.

  The quote must clearly separate the following costs:  
  • Lighting upgrade costs  
    • LED fixtures — material costs 
    • Lighting controls — material costs 
    • LED fixtures and lighting controls — labour costs

    • Additional items required to complete the lighting upgrade (e.g. electrical upgrades, wiring, lifts, disposal, etc.) — material costs  
    • Additional items required to complete the lighting upgrade — labour costs  

Application step 6: Application summary 

• The summary page will only show our regular incentive rates.  
• The additional costs covered through the Manitoba Schools Lighting Initiative will be added upon application review.  

• Lighting controls documentation 
  • Updated copy of your Lighting controls intake form with completed Post-Install section and any revisions made to Pre-Approval section.
• Project invoice
  The invoice must clearly separate the following costs:  
  • Lighting upgrade costs  
    • LED fixtures — material costs 
    • Lighting controls — material costs 
    • LED fixtures and lighting controls — labour costs 
  • Other project costs 
    • Additional items required to complete the lighting upgrade (e.g. electrical upgrades, wiring, lifts, disposal, etc.) — material costs  
    • Additional items required to complete the lighting upgrade — labour costs
