New Buildings Program 2.2

In light of the province’s plan to enforce the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings 2020 on January 1, 2024, the program will soon transition from version 2.2 to 3.0 to reflect the new energy code requirement.

Details regarding the program changes will be available in the near future.

Incentives for new energy efficient buildings

Design and construct a new, energy efficient commercial or institutional building and get up to $2.00/sq.ft. plus another $10,000 toward energy modelling.

Steps To Participate

Energy Modelling Assistance Incentive | Performance Path

Energy Modelling Assistance Incentive

  1. YOU SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION

    Complete your Energy Modelling Assistance Incentive application form and send it to us by email. For projects that are anticipating to obtain a building permit on or after January 1, 2024, please note the updated terms and conditions regarding Energy Code applicability. 

    Once accepted, we will send a confirmation email and outline your next steps.

  2. YOU SUBMIT YOUR REPORT

    Submit your design energy modelling report and invoice.

    Before the project’s tender date and before being issued a building permit, you must submit both your design energy modelling report and invoice. The invoice must only be for the relevant energy modelling services.

  3. WE PAY YOUR INCENTIVE AND PROVIDE PROJECT FEEDBACK

    Once we receive all your documents, we will review the modelling report and provide incentives for approved projects.

Performance Path

  1. YOU SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION

    Complete your Performance Path application form and send it to us by email. For projects that are anticipating to obtain a building permit on or after January 1, 2024, please note the updated terms and conditions regarding Energy Code applicability. 

    Once accepted, we will send a confirmation email and outline your next steps.

  2. YOU SUBMIT YOUR DELIVERABLES

    Submit program deliverables throughout the design and construction of your new building

    We have templates available for most deliverables. For full program requirements and details, refer to the Program Guide here.

  3. WE REVIEW ALL SUBMITTED DELIVERABLES

    Once we have all your deliverables, we will provide feedback and follow up questions/comments if applicable.

  4. WE PAY YOUR INCENTIVE AND YOUR PROJECT IS COMPLETE

    Upon approval, the financial incentives are paid and the project is completed.

Does my project qualify?

  • New construction or addition (classified as Part 3)
  • Project is required to follow the Manitoba Energy Code for Buildings
  • Must apply before tender date and before construction permit issued
