STRATEGIC ENERGY MANAGEMENT COHORTS

STRATEGIC ENERGY MANAGEMENT COHORTS

TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR ENERGY USE

The Strategic Energy Management Cohorts program empowers industrial organizations that are ready to take meaningful steps toward improving energy efficiency, lowering operating costs, and advancing sustainability. Designed for facilities using between 2 to 20 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity annually, this program combines coaching, peer learning, and structured planning to deliver lasting results.

HOW STRATEGIC ENERGY MANAGEMENT COHORTS WORK

Through a structured, multi-year, peer-based approach, participants build the skills and systems needed to manage energy more effectively. Organizations share experiences and apply proven best practices — unlocking savings that go beyond traditional incentive programs.

BENEFITS OF JOINING

There are many benefits to joining our Strategic Energy Management Cohorts:

  • Identify and implement energy-saving opportunities
  • Lower operating costs and improve efficiency
  • Build internal expertise and systems
  • Access incentives for low- and no-cost projects
  • Track and sustain long-term savings

WHAT’S INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM

STRATEGIC ENERGY MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP & ENERGY SCAN

We cover the cost of a professionally led strategic energy management workshop and energy scan. This workshop brings your organization together to:

  • collaborate and build a shared understanding of strategic energy management;
  • identify and prioritize energy-saving opportunities; and
  • begin implementing energy-saving actions.

Success requires buy-in across the organization, and these activities are an important first step in building that foundation.

STRATEGIC ENERGY MANAGEMENT PLAN DEVELOPMENT & COACHING

We support your energy management team with coaching to develop your organization’s Strategic Energy Management Plan (SEMP). A SEMP is a formal energy management plan that helps your team identify, evaluate, and implement energy-saving opportunities. It outlines:

  • annual savings targets;
  • potential energy-saving projects;
  • activities in progress; and
  • completed measures.

Ongoing coaching throughout the program will continue to build your energy team’s expertise.

ONGOING COHORT ENERGY MANAGEMENT SUPPORT

Throughout the three-year program, you’ll participate in tailored energy management workshops alongside your cohort peers. These sessions provide technical training, peer learning, and ongoing support to help you stay on track, share challenges, and celebrate progress.

ENERGY MANAGEMENT ASSESSMENT WORKSHOPS

Annual Energy Management Assessment (EMA) workshops provide a structured opportunity to review progress, uncover additional energy-saving opportunities, and strengthen your overall energy management strategy.

INCENTIVES FOR LOW-COST PROJECTS

We provide incentives for low-cost and no-cost operational, maintenance, and behavioural projects that aren’t eligible through our other offers. This ensures you’re rewarded for taking additional steps to plan, implement, and optimize your energy-saving efforts.

ADDITIONAL TOOLS & SUPPORT FOR PARTICIPANTS

EQUIPMENT LENDING LIBRARY

What gets measured gets managed. We maintain an extensive equipment lending library that provides your energy champion with access to borrow instruments and logging tools to better understand your organization’s energy use.

MARKETING TOOLKIT

We can help you succeed in your conservation efforts by equipping you with a variety of marketing resources, templates, digital assets, and tips through our marketing toolkit. With these tools, you can easily implement an energy management communication strategy across your organization, driving employee engagement and giving you more time to focus on energy-saving projects.

PROJECT VERIFICATION SUPPORT

Your strategic energy management coach will work with you to quantify and verify the energy savings from your projects, ensuring your efforts are accurately measured and recognized. They provide guidance and tools to help validate results, making it easier to report progress and claim eligible incentives.
