COMMUNITY ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROGRAM

WHEN WE WORK TOGETHER, OUR ENERGY AND BILL SAVINGS ARE ANYTHING BUT SMALL

Through our Community Energy Efficiency Program, we offer rural communities the support to hire an energy efficiency advocate who can help residents reach their sustainability goals.

Here are some commonly asked questions about the program and how your community can participate.

What is the Community Energy Efficiency Program?

Our Community Energy Efficiency Program offers the opportunity and support to have an energy efficiency advocate help communities be more energy efficient and work toward their sustainability goals. This initiative helps communities lower their energy consumption and empower its citizens to contribute to a more sustainable Manitoba.

My community doesn’t have an energy efficiency advocate. Does that mean I can’t participate in Efficiency Manitoba’s offers?

You can participate! Our offers are designed for all Manitobans. The goal of energy efficiency advocates is to educate community members about energy efficiency, set and work towards local sustainability goals, and support a community-led approach to energy efficiency.

I think my community would benefit from having an energy efficiency advocate. How do we get one?

While we only have a certain amount of funding dedicated to support the hiring of advocates, speaking with your local government officials and showing interest is a great way to get started. We also announce when we’re looking to fund new communities, so it’s never too early to show interest!

Can my community’s advocate help me with an Efficiency Manitoba application form?

Yes, the advocate in your community is there to help. If you have any questions regarding our programs and rebates, or what’s needed on an application form, please reach out to them!

Do advocates provide EnerGuide audits or other services?

While an advocate is your go-to person for energy efficiency in your community, they can’t provide audit, inspection, or installation services.

I would like to speak to my community’s advocate. How can I contact them?

If you live in a community that has an advocate, you can reach out them by email.
